Styletag Spring Sweepstakes

Styletag, the new social networking, curation and discovery platform that’s 100% focused on fashion and curated by top bloggers and style icons, announced today that one lucky Styletag app user will win a $2,000 shopping spree as part of its Spring Sweepstakes Giveaway.  In addition, each week through May 21, 2014 Styletag will choose one member to win a $300  gift card. This is the app’s biggest giveaway to date and its first official promotional campaign. The Grand Prize winner will be announced on May 27.

“Our users have been enthusiastically shopping for and sharing their new spring looks, so we wanted to add excitement to the seasonal wardrobe swap. This $2,000 grand prize will give a big boost to one of our fashion-lovers,” said Russ Eisenman, head of marketing at Styletag’s parent company, SK Planet Inc. “The additional $300 prizes will give three more members of our community the opportunity to splurge on something they’ve seen and loved on Styletag.”

Later this week, Styletag kicks off its first in-app sales promotion with brand partner and industry leader Rebecca Minkoff. From May 8-13, exclusive and limited edition items from the Rebecca Minkoff online sample sale will be available to Styletag users via the brand’s app profile; just a simple tap on each image will allow them to shop directly from the comfort of their smartphones. Rebecca Minkoff collaborated with the app’s in-house photographer, Scott Brasher, on original photographs for this event.

Also coming up this spring: the launch of an exciting promotion with Current/Elliott, available exclusively through the app; and a trend feature curated by NYC-based fashion blogger Arielle Nachmani (SomethingNavy.com) in partnership with Canadian e-tailer Eluxe.ca; among other exciting events.

What is Size XO Fashion

What is size XO fashion ? OK, it is possible you have never heard of size XO.  It is also possible that size XO does not exist or never has existed.  Well, the fact of the matter is that I am fairly sure size XO does exist.  I was on facebook last night and on the Fashion Bug page someone was asking why Fashion Bug charged more for size XO then they did for size XL.  The lady writting the post mentioned she measured them and they appeared to be the same.  Anyway, I tried to research the size and did not find much at all.  It is my understanding (possibly and incorrect understanding) that size XO clothing was created for larger size women in the same manner that size zero was created for smaller size women.  It is very possibly simply a "vanity" size. OK, here is how Fashion Bug explained the size, " The sizes XL and OX are in fact different. An OX provides more room in various areas of the garment such as the body, armholes, sleeve length and shoulders. And a 1X hav

Fashion Goes in Cycles

They say that fashion goes in cycles.  What is in fashion this year will be out of fashion next year. However, clothing that may have been in style ten years ago, can potentially be next season smashing trend.  Due to the the cyclical nature of the apparel industry it is important for designers as well as consumers to monitor past styles as well as currently trending designs.  One way to do this would be to occasionally view old fashion articles in magazines, newspapers, websites, and obviously on blogs such as this one.
