Tom & Teddy Launches in the United States: Swimwear for Men & Boys

Vibrant colors, contemporary designs and a universally flattering fit mark the US launch collection from Australian swimwear brand, Tom & Teddy. The premium swimwear brand for men and boys offers matching designs - perfect for fathers and sons.

Like father, like son – little boys want to mirror their father in every way. Whether they learn to throw a baseball together, share a hamburger or simply hang out, there’s no denying that special bond. Tom & Teddy was created to capture the essence of friendship, shared experiences and that special bond between father and son.

Emulating their father is a dream for many little boys. Whether they learn to kick a football together, share a hamburger or wear the same polo shirt, there’s a sense of belonging and pride that goes with the association,” said founder Michelle L’Huillier.

Tom & Teddy launched in 2012 by husband and wife team, Michelle L’Huillier and Jelle de Jong. As former Sydney residents, and keen beachside living enthusiasts they recognized the need for a wider choice of swimwear in a market flooded with street and surf oriented styles.
Our designs will appeal to men who feel they have grown out of their boardies but are looking for something fun and different,” said Michelle L’Huillier.

After becoming parents to two sons and being inspired by their fond memories of sand and surf, they created Tom & Teddy, a classic vibrant beachwear collection for boys and men – perfect for coordinating father and son ensembles.

Tom & Teddy pays particular attention to the quality and detail of its swim shorts. Each pair is made from soft and quick drying microfiber, that is salt water and chlorine resistant, and UV protected. Attention to detail and functionality is shown in Tom &Teddy swimwear through side and back pockets with Velcro closures, rear eyelets for air circulation and a high quality braided draw cord at the elastic waist. Double stitching makes the swimwear extra durable and hardwearing for all the rough and tumble activities boys and men like to partake in on a day of fun.

Current swimwear styles include a graphic red and blue octopus print, playful green and yellow turtle print, sophisticated stripes and a host of eye-catching solids. Sizes start at 12 months and above for boys, and up to size XXL for men.

Tom & Teddy can be purchased online at www.tomandteddy.com, and will be available in select retail outlets in in the US over the coming months.

About the Tom & Teddy Name

The name Tom & Teddy has a deep and emotional connection for Michelle who came up with the name in the very early stages of the company’s conception. It was conceived to illustrate the bond between a father and son, or a boy and his treasured possession, but it goes a lot deeper than that. Teddy (Edward) is the name of her beloved grandfather who was a major influence during her formative years. He had a number of brothers, one of whom was called Tommy. A niece of the brothers named her two sons Tommy and Teddy, and when her own son was born, Michelle named him Thomas Edward, which incidentally is also the name of her great grandfather. So there’s a family occasion with both names that goes across at least four generations.

What is Size XO Fashion

What is size XO fashion ? OK, it is possible you have never heard of size XO.  It is also possible that size XO does not exist or never has existed.  Well, the fact of the matter is that I am fairly sure size XO does exist.  I was on facebook last night and on the Fashion Bug page someone was asking why Fashion Bug charged more for size XO then they did for size XL.  The lady writting the post mentioned she measured them and they appeared to be the same.  Anyway, I tried to research the size and did not find much at all.  It is my understanding (possibly and incorrect understanding) that size XO clothing was created for larger size women in the same manner that size zero was created for smaller size women.  It is very possibly simply a "vanity" size. OK, here is how Fashion Bug explained the size, " The sizes XL and OX are in fact different. An OX provides more room in various areas of the garment such as the body, armholes, sleeve length and shoulders. And a 1X hav
